Nwel Pou Timoun / Christmas Day Celebration

The happiest day on earth for many children around the world, is the saddest day for many here in Haiti. Since the inception of Pennies for Haiti, we have worked in Caradeux. Every year we make sure to celebrate Christmas with a community of 400 people. For two consecutive years, we fundraised and had a Christmas Fair for the kids in Caradeux. Our project "Nwel Pou Timoun" or "A Meal for Christmas" (not a translation) project is never certain as we depend heavily on donors to get us through Christmas day. We often do not know what to expect until a few days before. In past years, Toys for Tots have helped us celebrate, donors have made last-minute donations to either purchase gifts or help us prepare and serve a hot meal with all the trimmings for the kids in the neighborhood. Last year, only a few days before Christmas God blessed us with a donation that ensured we were able to distribute 250 meals to children and adults. I always look forward to Christmas day because I get to be with them making Christmas...Merry! As always thank you for your support.
